Introduction
Most people want something old from their lives to
disappear and something new to emerge. This is the seeker’s experience. From
within the seeker’s experience we feel a sense of lack, and so a journey begins
toward getting things and experiences that we want. But getting what we want is
a less than stable solution, because sooner or later the wanting flares up
again. A stronger solution lies in the realization that this journey is a
subset of something extraordinary and available, a vast container inside that
holds all our desires.
Let’s consider that the everyday ‘seeking and finding
dance’ causes a split from the deepest inner fulfillment. Let’s rekindle our soul
knowing that the game of looking for what we want in life is, primarily, a
gripping distraction from the realization that everything we now want gone is
already gone, and everything we want is already true and present.
The human intellect will probably not believe this.
Therefore, this book is directed toward a deeper knowing; it is directed toward
an inner spiritual vision that uses no ideas. Through direct experiential
clarity you can recognize this spiritual vision. This requires a ‘silent yes’
to something quite indefinable and divine: The Infinite* inside.
(* Note: The words I
capitalize throughout this book are interchangeable. They refer to what you are
inwardly, your supreme nature apart from anything that words can convey. My
desire is to keep them neutral and vaguely defined, because sometimes
definitions stop us from experiential clarity. Alter the words to suit yourself,
or replace them with silence. Truth is wordless. All words that attempt to
describe the Infinite are subject to the inadequacy of the finite).
Be willing to undergo an organic and natural
re-orientation as you read, a shift in the “perception of what you are and what
you contain,” giving rise to a rediscovery of inner truths you’ve always known
but that the seeker in you tends to forget:
You are the Infinite.
You are the
destination.
You contain your
heart’s desires.
The
fulfillment that comes from inside you is not a second-rate substitute for
any of your “true desires” on the outer level. It is the substance and essence
of all you are seeking.
