Hiring a ghostwriter is an investment in your self. The satisfaction of seeing your book on Amazon and in stores is worth many times the price.

Here is what I charge:

When the bulk of the writing is up to me I charge $65 an hour.

For highly collaborative efforts (in-person, via phone, email, or voice recording) I charge $50 an hour.

For critique and editing I charge $40 to $45 an hour.

    

    Aside from going with the hourly rates above, in some cases another option is for me to write the book for a percentage of sales. This kind of agreement varies from book to book. Please call to discuss this.

    As a ballpark figure, I might drop my "collaborative effort rate" to $40 an hour, in return for a percentage of book sales. Typically I receive between 10 to 50 percent of each book sold. 

    All of this will be written up in a simple, easy to understand contract.
